Mikel Arteta is backing Victor Anichebe to grab his chance at Everton after a spate of injuries to attacking teammates.

Anichebe and 16-year-old Jose Baxter are Everton's only forwards available with Premier League experience.

It's the chance Olympic silver medalist Anichebe has been waiting for and Arteta tipped him to make a big impression.

"Victor has done really well when he's come in," Arteta told evertonTV. "He creates good chances for himself just playing on his own up there.

"We've got two good players to play in front of the midfield in Felli [Marouane Fellaini] and Tim [Cahill]. They get into the box and create a lot from those positions. Hopefully we can find the right way to play."
