Arsenal's Mannone fancies Gretna move

Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone fancies a move to Scotland's SPL.

The Italian signed a new contract with the Gunners last week and said: "I was disappointed in the summer that the potential move to Gretna didn't work out. A couple of other SPL clubs were also interested, but in the end I stayed with Arsenal and, perhaps, it was for the best.

"Eventually, I would love to break into the Italian national team set-up and play first-team football at Arsenal."

But Mannone refused to rule out a loan move to Scotland in the January window. He added: "Of course, it'll be important for me to get more first-team exposure in the next year and a loan move could be a good option. I like Scottish football and, if another club was to make a loan approach, I would certainly consider it."
