Arsenal's Germany connection are urging Sami Khedira to join them at the Emirates. The London Evening Standard says the Real Madrid midfielder - who nearly joined the Gunners during the summer - has stayed in contact with his international team-mates, Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil.
And it's that German connection that could now persuade Khedira to even take a pay cut to resurrect his on-off move.
The midfielder has refused to sign a new contract with Madrid and can leave on a free next summer.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho - who took Khedira to the Bernabeu in 2010 - is hoping to exploit that by offering a pre-contract in January.
But Madrid would prefer to cash in during the January transfer window rather than let one of their star players join Chelsea for free - and would even consider accepting less than the £12million Arsenal offered last summer for the player.
