Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva is expected to be playing again in mid-December.
The Brazilian-born Croatia striker suffered a fractured left leg and open dislocation of his ankle in a Premier League match against Birmingham City in February and there were fears at the time that the injury could be career threatening.
The Croatian striker, injured following the infamous tackle by Martin Taylor, is likely to make his comeback against Portsmouth reserves on 16 December.
There was an outside chance he could feature against Tottenham's second string a fortnight earlier but that has been rearranged due to the Carling Cup clash against Burnley being scheduled for December 2.
