Cesc told Spanish radio he spoke with Real president Ramon Calderon and his No2 Pedja Mijatovic in July: "We were talking for awhile and it went very well. They seem to me two very good and very sincere people. The truth is that I will always thank them for their interest. We talked over many things, but in the end I chose not to leave Arsenal.
"We'll see what happens in the future, but for now I am 100 per cent happy with the decision that I took."
Cesc added: "I know you only get certain opportunities in life. But I am young and I know if I continue working hard and have good luck with injuries then these opportunities can come round again.
"I chose to stay (with Arsenal) and the truth is I will live with this decision, that I made with my family, until I die.
