Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner doesn't believe Birmingham City defender Martin Taylor sought to injure teammate Eduardo da Silva on Saturday.

Bendtner played with Taylor while on loan at St Andrew's last season.

Arsenal's Danish striker said: "He is not one who does bad tackles. But that was a bad tackle and he deserved to be sent off. The referee had no choice.

"But normally, he's not a player like this. He's really calm. He's not one who goes in to hurt people. Never."
