Arsenal's Bendtner: Goal makes up for last week's gaffe

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner admits his amazing gaffe last week against Liverpool was on his mind as he headed home their equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw.

Bendtner is determined to play some part in tomorrow night's Champions League clash after inadvertently blocking Cesc Fabregas' shot on the Liverpool line during last week's quarter-final first leg.

Bendtner said: "It was nice to pay a little back for last week.

"I wasn't trying to flick the ball in, I was trying to get out of the way but it came at me too fast and got stuck under my feet.

"We know that the title is going to be difficult after this result. Maybe the Champions League is a more realistic target.

"We've all worked so hard this season and it would be difficult to swallow if we finished with nothing to show for our efforts.

"There's still a huge belief we can win a trophy but we know we have to go to Anfield and win.

"Liverpool have frustrated us twice in a row but we've made chances in both games and if we put them away on Tuesday it will be a totally different story."
