Arsenal's Arteta: I hope to play for Spain

Mikel Arteta insists he didn't join Arsenal to replace Cesc Fabregas.

Cesc left the Gunners for Barcelona before Arteta arrived from Everton in August.

"I never joined to be a replacement for Cesc, I'm at Arsenal to make my own way," he said.

"My dreams and challenges are to win a major title in England and to play with the Spanish team. I really would love a chance to play for Spain. I have not had the opportunity, hopefully one day I will before I retire."
