Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor says he feels refreshed after being given a break manager Arsene Wenger last week.
Wenger had rested Adebayor to the bench for Saturday's Premier League game at Bolton, where Arsenal came back to win from 2-0 down and having a man sent off.
The Gunners boss felt his leading scorer had become somewhat "jaded" after playing so much football this season.
"I really needed that, because I had played all of the games during the season, even in the Carling Cup sometimes," he said.
"At the end of the day, I was tired and the boss is there to do that [rest me].
"You can see now that I am a little bit fresher than before. Now physically I am very good."
Adebayor insisted: "It is not that I put pressure on myself, but I have had to do the job alone because Robin van Persie got injured and then we lost Eduardo as well.
"Whenever the boss has asked me to do it, I have to do it. After all, I am here to play football, as much as I can.
"For me the most important thing is to keep on going, but as a human being if you need a break you have to take it."
He added: "I may have not been scoring, but I am making a lot of positive things for my team-mates. This is the most important thing.
"For me, it is not just about scoring, if you make something for someone else, that is just like a goal.
"I will just keep on going.
"If I get a chance, I will try to put it in. If I do not get a chance, then I will just work hard for my team-mates."
