Arsenal's Adebayor: I did fall out with Bendtner

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor admits their Carling Cup humiliation last season against Tottenham still burns. "My last memory of Tottenham was very bad and I'm looking to change that and give them something special," said the striker who took his frustrations out on team-mate Nicklas Bendtner during the humiliation at White Hart Lane.

"We work every single morning together and who can say they never fell out with their girlfriend or wife? These things are natural. If you love someone too much you fall out with that person. It was very difficult to take. I felt very sorry for what happened, for the fans. You have to apologise straight away if something is not right."

Spurs revelled in the victory - their first north London derby win of the 21st Century - and had the DVD of the game on sale in the club shop by the end of the week. Juande Ramos was hailed a genius.

"After the game, they were singing and dancing outside the stadium, they were so happy," recalled Adebayor, who scored Arsenal's goal that evening.

"That day, they played quite good football. Maybe we were not ready, they took their chances. If it was 2-1, you could have said they had luck but they won 5-1 so there's no luck there. They deserved to win.

"For them it was a big event but now we have a chance to take our revenge. We hope the result is the reverse and we can put it in the Arsenal shop on Friday."
