Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been granted a new work permit to smooth his move to Manchester City.

The Arsenal striker attended a hearing in Manchester on Tuesday and Sky Sports News sources can now reveal there have been no complications with what is a routine process.

A remarkable week at Eastlands which has seen City snare Carlos Tevez from neighbours Manchester United and reignite interest in Chelsea and England captain John Terry, should now be concluded with the acquisition of Adebayor.

A fee is yet to be agreed with Arsenal who are still keen to get their full asking price of £25m but the player is ready to quit Emirates for a move north.
