Arsenal whizkid Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was shocked by his England start for their draw with France.
The Arsenal teenager became the second youngest England player to appear at a European Championship, aged 18 years and 301 days.
Wayne Rooney was 69 days younger when he played at Euro 2004.
Ox said: "I found out in the afternoon. Sometimes the boss tells you the day before, this time it was on the day.
"You always have to prepare and be ready when you get the call."
