Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles still cannot believe his meteoric rise to the first-team under manager Arsene Wenger.

With injuries opening up spots in the full back slots at the club, Maitland-Niles took his chance perfectly, and he has looked at home in the first team during his appearances in the Premier League and other competitions.

Maitland-Niles said he was stunned when he read a tweet from Arsene Wenger praising his performances.

"When I looked at the tweet, my heart warmed because Arsène Wenger is such an intelligent man and a legend at the club," he said.

"For him to say something about me like that is just an amazing feeling. I literally did smile when I looked at the tweet."
