Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe welcomes signing spree

Arsenal striker Benik Afobe welcomed the club's late signing spree last week.

Mikel Arteta, Yossi Benayoun, Per Mertesacker, Andre Santos and Chu Young Park followed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Carl Jenkinson, Gervinho and Joel Campbell to Emirates Stadium in the final days of the transfer window and Afobe believes that Wenger's transfer strategy will pay dividends.

"I think the boss has done a very good job with these signings - maybe even better than people expected," he told Arsenal.com.

"It's good that the boss has bought some more experienced players. We know what they can do and the way they play is very good. I've been watching Arteta and Benayoun for five years, and it's good that they have come from other English clubs because you know that they are proven in the Premier League.

"We know they are going to fit in well - they are Arsenal kind of players and they are going to be great additions to the squad."
