Arsenal women travel to Japan to help earthquake fund

Arsenal Ladies' treble-winning team travel to Asia next month for an 11 day tour in a bid to raise funds for the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami relief effort, reports the club's official website. The Gunners have been invited by the Educational Foundation Goto Gakuen Musashigaoka College and the treble winners will take part in three matches during their stay from 25th November to 5th December 2011, with all funds raised going to the appeal.

Their first fixture will see them face the winners of the national Women's Football League.

It will be the first time that the Gunners, who have travelled to Africa and the USA previously, have played in East Asia in their 24-year history, and the trip follows on from the men's hugely successful summer Asia Tour to Malaysia and China.
