Calum Chambers will remain in the Arsenal setup next season says Arsene Wenger.
It has been suggested that the 20-year old defender may be loaned out to a rival Pemier League club next season but Wenger insists he will stay in north London and continue to develop his game.
Wenger also excused Chambers for some earlier sub-par performances this season while suggesting the youngster may have been called up by England boss Roy Hodgson a little too soon in September last year.
"We want to keep him here next season, he won't go on loan. His England call was a bit early," said Wenger.
"People remember the fact that he had a difficult time at Swansea earlier in the season. Now imagine that happens to him with England in a big game?
"It's terrible afterwards. You carry that with you your whole life. You have to be equipped to deal with that kind of pressure.
"But it was not unhelpful. It shows him that if you do well then you are rewarded but he was not completely there experience-wise to deal with that."
