Arsenal will not budge from their Cesc asking price

Arsenal refuse to drop their asking price for skipper Cesc Fabregas.

Barcelona chiefs hope to be in London this week for talks with Arsenal counterparts, including manager Arsene Wenger.

The Mail on Sunday says with the Catalan club insisting they will not pay more than £35million for the Arsenal captain, they can expect short shrift from the north London club, who have insisted they will not be manipulated into making a deal at Barca's bidding.

It leaves the Spain midfielder in a quandary, with Barcelona's top limit for a bid £10m short of Arsenal's valuation.

Barcelona had expected Fabregas to make a public pronouncement that he wanted to leave and to agitate for a move to bring the price down.

Despite giving a range of interviews last week, Fabregas declined to do so and would be wary of making such a declaration, even though he would like to rejoin the club he trained with as a teenager.
