Arsenal will fight the FA's decision to charge Cesc Fabregas for spitting.

Although the club refused to confirm they would appeal against any ban, officials are putting together a stern defence of their captain ahead of the 12 May deadline.

A club spokesperson told the London Evening Standard: "The club have been asked for a response and we are in the process of compiling the necessary paperwork. We are currently preparing our case."
