Arsenal superkid Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is happy to have won a challenge from his Dad, Mark.
Mark Chamberlain, who was capped eight times, made his England debut at the age of 21 and scored in the 9-0 destruction of Luxembourg in 1982.
Son Alex, 18, is set to beat that having been selected for Euro 2012. His debut could even come against Norway in Oslo on Saturday.
Alex told The Sun: "When I made my debut for Southampton at 16, the first thing dad said to me was that he didn't know how I beat him to play my first game before him.
"Then he said 'Right, now you've got to make your England debut before me'.
"He was saying it in a jokey way but I suppose I have a chance."
