Iwobi appeared to strike the opener for the Gunners, only for it to be given to Alexis thanks to a faint touch.
"I honestly thought I'd scored, but he kept on saying 'I got a touch, I got a touch!' Please, let it be my goal! At the end of the day, we won, so that's all that matters," Iwobi told arsenal.com.
"It gives me confidence in every game I play, I'm excited, I can't wait to play and can't wait to get minutes on the pitch. I'm also enjoying my football which is what matters to me."
On Alexis and Theo Walcott, he added: "They're such quality players. When I train with them I'm always learning and I'm still learning. I'm still young, I guess the more I play the more I'll mature on the pitch. Playing with them helps me."
