West Ham United have approached Arsenal about a permanent deal for Carl Jenkinson but have been told they must cough up for his services.
The 22-year old right-back joined the Ham mers on a season-long loan in the summer and has impressed during his spell with the much-improved east London side.
The Daily Mail reported earlier on Tuesday that West Ham are looking at the possibility of a less temporary agreement with the Gunners but have been quoted £12million.
It appears as though that fee may be out of range for the Upton Park outfit for whom Jenkinson has already appeared 20 times this campaign.
