Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has warned Arsenal to stay away from Marouane Chamakh in January.
The Morocco international was closely linked with a move to Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger failed with his bid.
Now, Triaud says that Chamakh will not be going anywhere come the next transfer window.
"I don't think so somehow. If we didn't let leave in the summer we're not going to let him go in January, are we?" he said.
"This is obvious. I think at one time soon we will have the chance to discuss things with Marouane.
"This is a bit of a sudden announcement. What interests us is to keep him in the squad, because he is a very important player with his talent and his enthusiasm.
"He is a fighter and sometimes takes the team by the scruff of the neck and lifts everyone up. Even when he is a sub, as soon as he steps on the pitch he wakes everyone else up."
