Arsenal are reportedly in line to sign the Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins on a free transfer.
The chaos surrounding the Portuguese club means that many of its players may have their contracts mutually terminated so they can find other employers.
While Arsenal would be capable of paying a transfer fee for Martins, saving money there could enable them to chase after a few other players this window.
TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Martins is a serious Arsenal target. They also allude to the possibility of the player being available on a free this summer.
Martins is joined by other players, such as Rui Patricio and William Carvalho, who want to leave Sporting after the horrific events of the past few weeks. Sporting "ultras" attacked the training ground and injured a number of the club's players and staff - including top scorer Bas Dost.
