Arsenal are moving for Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.
The Sunday Express says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has earmarked playmaker Gourcuff as the man to take the place of Cesc Fabregas.
And he is hoping an old pals' act by Marouane Chamakh will help lure Gourcuff to London rather than Manchester, where City are also tracking the talented Frenchman.
Arsenal's move for Gourcuff is a clear indication that the club are resigned to losing Fabregas to Barcelona in a deal which is expected to be worth up to £50m.
