Arsenal scouts were turned away from Tuesday night's National League clash between North Ferriby United and Lincoln City.
The Gunners were hoping to watch the Imps in action ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final clash next month.
But North Ferriby's tiny Grange Lane could not accommodate the delegation from the Premier League club.
North Ferriby match secretary Andrew Frankland-Barnes told the Daily Mirror: "They rang up this morning asking if they could send their scouts to watch Lincoln.
"But we had to tell them, 'Sorry, we're full up – where are we going to put them?"
Arsenal meet non-league Lincoln at the 60,000-capacity Emirates Stadium on Saturday March 11 after Danny Cowley's side got past Burnley in the fifth round.
