Arsenal defeated Tottenham1-0 in the North London derby on Sunday to get their season well and truly back on track.

The Gunners lost 3-1 to Aston Villa on the opening weekend before recoiling with a 3-1 triumph at Fulham, the win over Spurs and Champions League victories over Fenerbahce and Arsene Wenger is happy with how the players have responded.

"I enjoyed it, absolutely - the attitude they have shown,” he told Sky Sports.

"It was a very intense game where sometimes technically, in the second half especially, we dropped our level. But overall, to sum it up, their goalkeeper was their best player and we had plenty of chances.

"I concede as well that we did hang on in the end because we just wanted to keep the score. Overall, there were less goals than usual but it was still a very interesting derby."

Olivier Giroud scored his third goal in three outings in the league when he neatly slotted home a Theo Walcott cross form the right in the 23rd minute to send Arsenal to fourth on the table.
