Arsenal are set to revive their interest in German star Mesut Ozil but face fierce competition from Barcelona.

The Werder Bremen midfielder, of Turkish descent, is back on Arsene Wenger's radar following initial interest in the summer, says the People.

At 17, he became the most expensive teenager in Germany when he moved from Schalke to Bremen for £3.8million in 2005.

But Catalan giants Barca - regularly linked to Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas - are now threatening to hijack Wenger's plans to lure Ozil to England.
