Arsenal trio to miss league outing but hopefully fit for Carling Cup final

Robin van Persie, Laurent Koscielny and Abou Diaby are all out of the Arsenal starting line-up for the home league clash with Stoke on Wednesday. Van Persie misses the clash with a hamstring injury and a back complaint means Koscielny will also be sidelined.

Abou Diaby has a calf injury, but he is suspended for the game anyway.

Boss Arsene Wenger is hopeful that his injured players will be available for Sunday's Carling Cup final with Birmingham at Wembley.

"We don't have Van Persie, Diaby and Koscielny available," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online.

"Everybody else is fit. Diaby is suspended. Van Persie has a hamstring problem and Koscielny a back problem.

"Both are short term and they have a chance for the game on Sunday."

However, Johan Djourou returns from a slight back injury to ease Wenger's defensive concerns.

The Frenchman confirmed: "Johan Djourou is better and will play."
