Dr Congo international striker Tresor Mputu has been offered trials by Arsenal.

The 21-year-oldis with TP Mazembe and their sports director Salomon Idi Kalonda told the News of the World: "We've received an invitation from Arsenal for Mputu.

"Talks began a long time ago but we didn't want to say anything before an agreement was reached.

"We ruled out a number of clubs before choosing Arsenal."
