Arsenal to see '2016 signing' Maximiliano Romero slip net for Borussia Dortmund

Arsenal are set to see Argentine whizkid Maximiliano Romero slip through their net to Germany next month.

Velez Sarsfield striker Romero is on the brink of signing for Borussia Dortmund in a €12m deal.

However, the 18 year-old had a deal with Arsenal less than two years ago, only for injury to see it fall through.

BILD reports terms with a 16 year-old Romero and Velez had been settled with Arsenal and he was all set to put pen to paper. The deal was to be worth €6m, with Romero spending two years on-loan at Velez before joining the Gunners in 2018.

However, just before signing, the striker tore his cruciate ligament and Arsenal dropped all negotiations.

Romero has since fought his way back and is now set to sign for BVB - potentially as a successor for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
