Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Mario Gotze from Bayern Munich.
According to TransferMarketWeb, the Gunners are set to compete with Liverpool for the signature of the German attacking midfielder.
The Reds are believed to be in pole position to land Gotze due to the presence of the 23-year-old's former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp but it is understood that Arsene Wenger is now showing interest.
The report indicates that the Gunners see Germany's World Cup hero as a possible replacement for either Theo Walcott or Olivier Giroud if Wenger opts to swing the axe this summer.
