Arsenal's bright start to the Premier League season suggests to Wojciech Szczesny that the club is primed for an assault on the title.

The Gunners sit five points on top of the table following Saturday's 2-0 victory over Liverpool and the Polish goalkeeper is of the belief that things are going in the right direction in north London.

"We knew it was a very important game for us, we knew that winning this game would mean a lot and create a gap in the table at the top," he said.

"If you look the consistency of our performances, recently you can see that we want to challenge for the title this year.

"You can see with the quality of our performance that we are up for it."
