Arsenal target Rafinha turned down English clubs to stay with Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich defender Rafinha has revealed that he rejected the overtures of some Premier League clubs in order to stay in Germany.

The 30-year-old Brazilian right-back was a strong target for Arsenal back in 2013 but opted to instead pen a three-year deal with the Bundesliga champions despite being intrigued by England's top flight.

"The Premier League is a top league," he told InsideFutbol.

"But I have two more years at Bayern and I plan to stay here for at least this period.

"My agent has told me that he has been approached by some English clubs.

"But I decided to renew my contract with Bayern and those English clubs went away."

Raffish joined Bayern from Italian club Genoa in 2011 and has since three German titles, two German Cups and the Champions League among others with the Bavarian behemoth.
