Arsenal may be having second thoughts about a deal for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.

M'Vila has been arrested in France after allegedly punching a 17-year-old, reports The Sun.

M'Vila, 21, spent the night in a police cell in his home town of Vern-sur-Seiche before being released early yesterday.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is confident of landing Rennes' defensive midfielder in a £17million deal within weeks.

It is claimed the assault happened at M'Vila's home.
