Arsenal are intensifying their pursuit of Udinese striker Luis Muriel.

The young Chilean is starring on-loan at Lecce this season.

The Daily Mail says Muriel is currently in the process of applying for a Spanish passport, which would negate the difficult process of him gaining a work permit to play in England.

He has yet to make his full international debut, but Arsenal scouts were impressed by his performances at the Under 20 World Cup last year, where he struck four goals. He has found the back of the net, often spectacularly, five times for Lecce this season.
