Austrian manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has left his job at Red Bull Leipzig after he was unable to agree on a new contract.

Hasenhuttl is highly rated across Europe for his work with the club. He is also a potential target for Arsenal as they close in on a new manager.

Sky Sports News Germany are reporting that he failed to agree a new deal with his club. He still has a year left on his current contract, but he will resign immediately.

It is unclear if Arsenal would switch tracks and attempt to agree a deal with Hasenhuttl. They may stick with their plan to appoint Mikel Arteta instead.
