Arsenal have made an offer for Bastia midfielder Florin Thauvin.

The Gunners have declared their intent to strengthen their midfield, by submitting a £4m bid for Thauvin, says the Daily Express.

The Frenchman has been sounded as a Gunners target, however he has also been on Newcastle's radar as they look to secure their Barclays Premier League status for next season.

Thauvin has been in fine form for Bastia this season, and has three goals to his name from 17 appearances.
