Arsenal Supporters' Trust expect Moshiri to transform Everton

The Arsenal Supporters' Trust can see Farhad Moshiri transforming Everton.

Moshiri sold his stake at the Emirates Stadium to pave the way for his purchase of nearly half the shares at Goodison last year.

Nigel Phillips of the Trust told the Liverpool Echo: "He and his partner wanted to be involved at Arsenal and wanted influence but they became marginalised. They have had no involvement whatsoever, despite owning 30% of the club.

"He got a unique opportunity at Everton and they have given him a chance to have a little bit of football fun, that may sound a little flippant, but he is not doing it to make money, he genuinely wants to get involved and wants to make things happen.

Asked if he felt Everton would now become a competitor to Arsenal in the long-term, Phillips said: "100%.

"They will compete with Arsenal in the long-term.

"I would say to Everton supporters to embrace the change but still hold them to account because they have to be held to account."
