Arsenal striker Giroud: They can make statement against Liverpool

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud feels they can make a statement to their critics at Liverpool today.

Manchester City and Chelsea remain shorter prices with the bookmakers to be champions in May but Giroud insists Arsenal have the staying power to last the course.

"Maybe we are not favourites for the title but we have been first for a long time and it's the 25th game [tomorrow]," said Giroud.

"We have to show people that we want to answer [our critics] on the pitch and nothing more. That is the most important [thing] for us, the reality of the pitch.

"After that, if people don't think we can finish first it is not my problem but I know we have a good chance to win the league."

Arsenal are seeking a double over Liverpool after November's 2-0 win at Emirates Stadium and Giroud told Arsenal Player: "It was one of our best [displays] because we played really well and we didn't let them play their game.

"That's why we didn't see a lot of [Luis] Suarez and [Daniel] Sturridge. We kept another clean sheet, so that's what we need tomorrow."
