Arsenal striker Giroud defiant in face of France terror tragedy

Olivier Giroud was remaining defiant as France prepare to meet England this week.

Friday's terror attacks in Paris, which killed more than 120 people, threatened to cancel Wednesday night's friendly at Wembley but the French team opted to go ahead with the match to honour the victims.

Arsenal striker Giroud said it was in his interests to show support for his countryman by defying the odds and fronting up for the match in a desperate time of need.

"I was very touched by this inhuman act," he said.

"I want to show my support to the families of the victims."
