Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh won't be returning to the political arena this summer.
The Mirror says despite leafletting for Bordeaux regional hopeful Jean Salalle a year ago, Arsenal's Chamakh has announced he will not stand for the local elections.
He said: "It was a good experience, even though I wasn't expecting it to get so much attention the way it did.
"I came to the conclusion that no one does you any favours in politics, it's worse than football!"
