Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom was delighted to see action in their Capital One Cup win over West Bromwich Albion.

Arsene Wenger is likely to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window but, until then, youngsters such as Akpom may be asked to step up again.

"We are all hungry to push into the first team more and this is our chance," said striker Akpom, 17.

"A lot of us were young players and we competed very well to stay in the game."
