The Togo star could not even walk by the age of four and was taken to a local church by his concerned mother in a bid to find a cure.
And he told Arsenal TV: "I was in the church, lying down, and a ball came straight into the building and the first person to stand up was me because I wanted to get the ball.
"Everyone started crying: 'Your son is walking because of a football and this means he has the chance to be a footballer. Most of the time when these things happen, it means the boy has football in his blood.' And it worked for me."
