Arsenal are strengthening their ties with Olympique Lyon.

New Lyon coach Remi Garde was recommended to the French giants by Wenger, who regards him highly.

Garde has worked as an Arsenal scout and Wenger will maintain his close relationship as he takes over the coaching reigns at Lyon.

Garde will have at his side fitness coach Robert Duverne, who is returning after a spell at Aston Villa.
