Arsenal are still believed to be in pursuit of free agent Ciprian Marica.
The 27-year old Romanian striker is out of contract after finishing up with Schalke at the end of last season meaning he can still be signed by English clubs despite the transfer window closing.
Marica has also been linked with West Ham United, Lazio, Inter Milan and former club Shakhtar Donetsk but it appears as though he could join the Gunners with his agent Ioan Becali re-iterating the interest of the North London club.
"He's close to joining Arsenal, but we have to wait for the next week," he told Prosport.ro.
