Jack Wilshere suggests that Arsenal could be targeting the FA Cup this season after moving into the fourth round.
The Gunners beat Swansea City 1-0 tonight thanks to Wilshere's 86th minute winner to set up a meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion on January 26 and the 21-year old midfielder has indicated that the famous cup is a competition he and his teammates are looking to succeed in.
"We know what the FA Cup means in England," he told ESPN after the win.
"It's a great competition and we wanted to be in the next round, but we've got a tough game away to Brighton."
And Wilshere also admitted he was surprised by his brilliant 20-yard volley which allowed Arsenal a path through to the next stage.
"I don't know if I'll ever hit another one like that in my life, and it was a great set-up from Olivier (Giroud)," he added.
"It was important we got the win in 90 minutes, we'd created chances (before the goal) but we just couldn't put it in."
