Arsenal, Spurs monitor Boruc's Celtic situation

Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Artur Boruc's situation at Celtic.

The Poland international goalkeeper is reportedly considering invoking FIFA's Article 17 law to buy out his Hoops contract next year.

Peter Lawwell, the Celtic chief executive, entered the debate last week when he said that, in relation to Article 17, Celtic would "consider our position very seriously and take all efforts to protect the club".

He added: "Nobody in the club at the moment has that right (to invoke Article 17]. It's a very complicated subject, and the decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport isn't out on Webster. It's football getting involved in the law. They (UEFA] didn't give a formula for the transfer fee, so what they're trying to do now is deliberate on whether it was right or wrong and hopefully come up with a formula so everybody knows where they are."
