Arsenal have tabled a bid for Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud.

The Sunday Mirror says Arsenal have made an £6.5million bid for Giroud.

Newcastle United and Liverpool are also keen on Giroud but the player himself is thought to favour a move to north London.

Giroud has a buyout clause of £12.8million in his contract which runs until 2014.
