Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has heaped praise on young defender Carl Jenkinson for his notable start to the season.
The 20-year old right-back has been performing well in the Gunners first team, deputising for the injured Bacary Sagna, and his skipper has been mightily impressed with his output thus far following Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
"Carl had another fine game on Sunday. I even heard that he was trending on Twitter!" Vermaelen said in the Official Matchday Programme.
"It's really important for any player to keep improving - there's nothing worse than standing still, and it's really obvious that Carl is making big steps every single week.
"He's playing better and better, and I'm very pleased for him."
