Arsenal skipper Fabregas wants to get winning mentality back

Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas admits the club have not had a winning mentality for the past five years.

The Gunners captain admits the North Londoners have lacked the mental approach which has given the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United success in the past few seasons but hopes they can get it back through players like Marouane Chamakh and Robin van Persie when he is fit.

"In the last few years we have lacked a winning mentality. When things are balanced a Drogba, or Lampard or a Rooney comes forward, players who win games," he said.

"We have missed that as a team. But we have signed a great striker in Chamakh and he is adapting well and has given many things we are missing before.

"We have missed Van Persie playing at his best in recent seasons as he has suffered a lot of injuries.

"I hope that this year he recovers well and gives us what we have missed."
